May 2006, Soncin was contracted by Fairmont Developments to construct the extension of Simcoe Street in the heart of the city of Toronto. The primary component of the $40,000,000.00 project was the construction of a four lane underpass traversing thirteen active rail lines without affecting Go, VIA and CNR train traffic into and through the Union Station corridor.

The key component in the successful completion of the schedule was the supply of the precast deck segments. Soncin required approximately 1.6 kilometers of girders by November of the same year. Soncin undertook the challenge and constructed a precast plant and cast the deck segments on site.
