Soncin was the successful bidder for the City of Toronto contract to rehabilitate the substructures and remove and replace the superstructures of three bridges over the Gardiner Expressway, including the detour and reconstruction of Lakeshore Boulevard to facilitate the construction. Soncin was able to complete this $16,000,000 project close to one year ahead of the scheduled completion. By utilizing alternate construction methods, Soncin managed to minimize the disruption of traffic on Toronto’s main artery into the city and at the same time accelerate the construction schedule. This high profile project was reported by the media on a daily basis on its affect on traffic. Soncin received many political and public accolades for the early completion of the project.
