The Dundas Street Structure rehabilitation is a multi-span structure that required a complete deck and girder replacement, reconstruction of the concrete pier caps, rehabilitation of the pier columns and reinstatement of the environmentally sensitive Humber River water shed. This project is one of the first projects in the City of Toronto that utilized precast concrete deck panels. Soncin proposed the precast methodology to accelerate the progress of the work. The deck was also poured using an internal glycol heating system to heat the deck during the cold weather cure period.
